[email protected]

Atcha Totachawattana is a patent engineer with prior experience as a technical specialist prosecuting patents for Morgan Lewis from 2018 to 2021, specializing in optical systems, novel optical components, medical devices, and semiconductor devices. She also has extensive patent experience in natural language interfaces, UX/UI design, data visualization, and machine learning algorithms. Atcha earned her PhD in electrical engineering from Boston University, where she developed fiber-laser integrated imaging and spectroscopy systems. For the past two years, Atcha has worked as an optical system engineer developing imaging systems for biomedical applications.

Atcha’s doctoral research was in the field of spectroscopy and imaging with a focus on optical system design for spectroscopy and hyperspectral imaging applications. One of her most prominent projects involved fiber-integrated mid-infrared photothermal spectroscopy and imaging systems with capabilities for label-free detection and characterization. Various applications include early disease detection and identification of disease markers in biological samples, detection of hazardous materials, characterization of materials with novel properties such as hydrogels and liquid crystals, and extension into the nonlinear regime with exploration into new physics.
